Savigny les Beaune 1er Cru Les Vergelesses rouge

Colour: Pale berry red with a purple rim.

Aroma: Earthy, undergrowth, farmyard, mushrooms, game and sweet tobacco upfront but also red fruit aromas of cranberries, raspberries, cherries and strawberries.

Taste: Medium-bodied, delicate, soft silky tannin, good acidity. Savoury, smoky flavours with a good mid-palate length and after-taste.

Overall: A cracking Pinot, both savoury and fruity, well balanced and made a great partner to Christmas dinner. Well worth the money and we would highly recommend.
